Foolish Defiance by L. M. Montes

Long ago defiance ruled,
I shook my head and sighed,
why did people listen not
and wag their tongues with lies.

Chances rolled down hills,
no takers snatched them up,
instead offenders turned away
with foolish fists corrupt.

Winds blew them hither and yon,
a lesson to be taught,
years it took to do what’s right
then seek the promise sought.
