What strategies do you use to increase comfort in your daily life?
I start each day by doing a devotion of some sort. If negative happenings occur, I pray and at times talk to someone about it. The Lord’s peace is the best kind.

I pray and consult with Jesus daily.
I stood barefoot with toes sinking
in poufy grass. A small lake’s lapping
waves clapped ashore with swishing
language speaking freely. Hands placed
themselves upon my shoulders, moved
down my arms to my hands. In one swift
motion his arms squeezed, pulling me
inward. I sank into your muscular chest.
His lips touched my ear, and his voice
whispered a melodic tune of love. I turned
and took his cheeks in the palms of my
hands, gazed into his eyes, then we lifted off
the grass and floated. The air around us
lighted a lavender and blue veil then circled.
“Without you, my love, there is no love. You are
the love within my heart. I pray you stay for-
ever a part of life that’s mine from God above.”
Weather tempests mock and scowl,
grabbing with windy fingers, push and howl,
through it all our focus be,
on Him above who gives to me,
but sometimes we forget,
how life can get us wet,
turn away and look to nothing,
or stand and pray for hope or something,
just know that in your prayer,
God is with you, yes, He’s there.
The blocks rumbled and tumbled down,
crumbling further till pebbles abound,
half of me shut the door to life,
when you stabbed me with your knife.
I understand life’s little worries,
when you think you’re in a flurry,
right now a storm has bitten your soul,
but it will pass, then you’ll be whole.
I took part in your unrest,
without a thought of future’s test,
behind we look and stagger forward,
but gaining ground does not look backward.
I wish you well my little one,
for in God’s hands all is won,
He has your heart and soul I pray,
that back to us you’ll be some day.
In all that you work towards, never stop trying. Learn from your mistakes, make corrections, and try again. Let God be your helping hand. Pray. And never give up.
In valleys green so deep and vast bestow,
petals bright with candied flowers growing,
steepled churches point to eagles soaring,
praying God’s children back to him return.
The road below twists its turning clutches,
steering ’round in circles thus repeating.
Along cliffside mountains choices teeter,
souls play chicken, thus forever tempting,
playing with life’s air currents with no thought.
Thorns and thistles stretch their needles skyward,
expecting wayward children so to catch,
and peace that stands forever elusive.
But then amazing grace for them is sent,
when wayward children pray and then repent.

When do we cast blame? When do we seek to find the one responsible? Is it when something bad happens as a result of someone releasing something that shouldn’t have been released? Or, is it when someone invents something that benefits the world. Which scenario gets the most attention? The negative or the positive?
Lately, I have been hearing, seeing, and watching about who is to blame for the release of this nasty virus. I’m tired of that mantra. Seriously, I am. I think many others are sick of it as well. The truth is…well…God knows who and where it came from. He knows the truth. Those responsible know the truth as well. We can play this blame game all day long. It won’t solve anything. What it does accomplish is making people angry which leads to nonsensical crap that makes some want to commit violence. As I said…the ones responsible know who they are. They will be held accountable one day. Let’s leave it at that.
This virus is here. Let’s deal with that and come up with a way to fix it (somehow). I’m not a scientist, so my prayers are with those who are. I pray they are honest enough to figure out how to squash this virus once and for all. To God be all the power and glory. He is our refuge. I pray for good health throughout the world. In Jesus Holy name I pray. Amen.
I sing to you my Lord
and praise your Holy Name,
Dance with me my Jesus,
may the music sweep us away
Today I lay on mountains high
and breath your breath’s wind,
The trees they sway and leaves they sing
the notes of my Savior’s hymns.
I rest my weary head on you
and hear all life’s long rhythms,
My sins may interrupt my song
but you conduct their collapse.
In your name I bow down
and humble at your feet,
My hand you take and draw me near
to dwell in your home so sweet.
Chorus
Hear the Lord calling to you,
His voice a sweet melody,
Listen, my child, I am your God,
My love an ovation do dear.
We all have days when we feel less than adequate. It’s a battle we all face at one time or another. When we feel this way, it’s all to easy to slip into that ‘I don’t want to do…’ mode. Yet, there are deadlines we have to keep, whether they are self-imposed deadlines or otherwise. What is one supposed to do when we feel this way? I’m not going be unrealistic; it’s difficult to climb the ladder out of this mode.
I felt like this yesterday (3/17/2021). My creativity was sapped and I couldn’t think up anything that would contribute to my current WIP. Have you felt this way at times? I was full of self-doubt. Have you had these thoughts too at one time or another? On Twitter I read a tweet by another author who wrote about feeling just this way, and she felt like giving up her writing. She went on to say that one of her fans (not knowing she was feeling that way) sent her a tweet telling her how much she enjoyed her books and even included a photo of the newly purchased book this author just released. What a joy that must have been for that author. That simple act from a fan renewed the author’s faith/confidence in herself.
Since we are all different with different interests, jobs, and hobbies; we will get lifted up in other ways. Sometimes we have to lift ourselves back up. That isn’t always easy to do. I think we need to find the source of our doldrums ourselves at times.
What can we try?
Even though negating moments such as this don’t feel very good, I firmly believe it keeps us humble and in check. Stay strong. Ask yourself what can be done to turn the negative feelings into positive feelings. You CAN do it. I have faith in you.
