I sat on the beach and counted grains of sand, but then the wind took them and they flew from my hand, perhaps I should refrain, from acting in disdain, some things should not be counted just enjoyed from day to day.
The little things that worry crawl and bite like ants, but then a shoe stomped them and they fell from my pants, perhaps I should rely, on Jesus not the lie, because He is the only one to help me when I cry.
If you are serious about writing a novel, novella, a book of short stories or poems; create a goal for yourself for each day. They say in order to create a habit, one must do the same thing for 21 days (maybe longer depending on the individual). Write everyday and hit the goal you set for yourself. Eventually, sitting down to write will become second nature.
However, it’s tough sitting down to a blank screen because, when this happens, many times the mind goes blank as well. Help your mind out by creating some stimulation for it. Again, we’re all different, so the type of stimulation will be different for everyone. Maybe music will get your mind going, or even the television in the background. Whatever works for you. Or, just start writing what comes to mind. This gets those wheels turning as well. Before you know it your fingers will be flying across the keyboard.
I stand before a hall with many gateways, deciding which to choose grips hold my mind, waiting to pounce life’s lioness awaits, or could it be the love of one so kind. Decisions rock on waves so vast and fraught, just open one and peer inside to see, so in I walk without thinking or thought, ’twas a lioness charging after me. I spun to run the door it laughed and shut, revealing darkness shadows playing and such, a light beamed round a corner calling out, so I followed but found the light of doubt. perhaps if I had thought decisions through, I would have gained a love so great and true.
Mist arises from a grave unknown here, tickling my mind so curiously, then winds of thought spread far yet hovers near, covering beauteous scents tapping me. The sun lifts high and pulls the mist away, and now grass sparkles on the brink of day, flowers spotted diamonds of morn’s soft dew are natures way of mixing its perfume. A tiny cold nips at the finger tips, while the sun prickles with warming tickles, and the ocean of skies set forth the dyes of bluish color hues as if on cue. But alas a cloud of gray comes rushing with storm winds pelting and rains a gushing.

I love hot air balloons, yet I’ve never been up in one. I am afraid of heights, yet I would go up in one of these in a heart beat. The opportunity never presented itself. Just think about how quiet it must be up there. You’d be able to look down and wonder, letting your imagination go. Maybe you are going through some stressful times and need to get away from everything. This would be a great way to do that. Hiking is another fun activity to help one relax. Here again, I’ve never been hiking. Not really. I have friends who do and they send back some fabulous pictures of their trips. There’s so much so see in this world, not just here in America. Get out and live life. Enjoy the beauty it has to offer, whether you’re on the ground or up in a balloon.
Hi Everybody. Good Morning, Good Afternoon, or Good Evening depending on the part of the world you are in. I hope your day is going well, and I wish you many blessings and peace. Please find listed below a list of writing prompts. Whether you are writing a short story or a book, or if you are looking for something to write in your journal, this list should help you.
Writing success can come fast and hard. It can also come slow and steady. Regardless of the speed at which it comes, remain thankful, grateful, and most importantly humble. Keep in mind that you aren’t the only one working for that success. There are other people on your team who work to get you that success you are striving for. So, in a nutshell, it is not all about you.
You might be thinking, ‘Wait, I’m the only one working toward my success. I’m the one writing the stories that people like.’ Well, yes and no. Yes, without your stories, articles, or blog posts, etc, there wouldn’t be a career. But, let’s not forget, there are people along the way who help to get you where you are going. There are supportive family members who stay quiet so you can write (if you’re married with kids or just you and the spouse). If you’re single this alone time will be easier to come by. There are others who help you to promote your book/work, social media plays a large role, editors, beta readers, those who hire you to write for them, and the list goes on.
How can you remain humble? Thank people from your heart. Appreciate what they do for you by doing for them. Above all else…..give thanks to God. Without Him we are nothing.
Sometimes sitting and thinking/meditating is a great thing to do. Sometimes not. It’s what you decide it to be. Maybe the mood you’re already in sets the scene for what you will meditate on. Or not. Those pesky negative thoughts can be irritating. Worrying about something in the future is a killer of a good mood. There is so much negativity going on now in the world. But there always has been. How can you get rid of this worry of tomorrow?
I am not psych professional, but I can say from experience that I used to worry about the future all the time. It was depressing. I hated feeling that way. Then I started studying God’s Word and praying. By doing this, I was reminded about something… God takes care of the future. He his in the future. He goes before you and prepares it. It doesn’t mean some days ahead won’t be bad. There will be some. What it DOES mean is that God will help you through the bad times… If you let him. Take Him with you. Pray. Focus on the present. The today.
