Campfire by L. M. Montes
Pine needles gather as pines tend to scatter
when dry invades the dew,
on trails I saunter,
over and yonder,
to a campfire and a lingering you.
As an ebony sky flicks on its lights,
and fires die then smoke,
your hand touches gentle
the side of my temple,
when I lay my head just right.

Winds of Life by L. M. Montes
An ember born of fire,
floats upwards to the sky,
when breezes wane and lessen,
to the earth it lands and dies.
A Summer Dream by L. M. Montes
The emerald blades of grass
Glisten softly in the sun,
With a color wheel of wild flowers
Dancing in the wind.
Ice blue skies with feathers of clouds
Gently floating by.
The sand creates a blanket,
That lies wrinkled under me,
While the sound of sleepy waves
Cradle me to slumber.
