The Apology

I sit and look up to the sky,
With heart felt tears within my eyes,
The clouds they float and pass away,
But will this hurt I have caused today?
The leaves they whither and fall to the ground,
Like my heart when this sadness mounds.
This rain and thunder I wish I could erase,
And wipe the pain from your sweet face.
But I can’t change what I have done,
Like the blowing wind the past is gone.
I can only offer this with every part,
And say I am sorry with all my heart.

Evening

Photo by Nicole Avagliano on Pexels.com

Twilight comes but once a day,
The sky turns raven black,
Grass and flowers yawn away.

Stars step out to blink and wink
While the moon man smiles back,
A look that only heaven thinks.

The tide rolls in to eat the sand,
While couples stroll along the beach,
Arm in arm or hand in hand.

God’s Beauty by L. M. Montes

God’s beauty,
a wonder,
a secret never told,
vast majestic mountains
in its palace of white gold.

Oh you people in the valley
of the village down below,
roam in silence
always seeking
for the secret never told.

The mist that lightly lingers,
gently staggers wide white fingers,
through a dark collage of mountains
laying to rest upon the snow
to find the secret never told.

Presence by L. M. Montes

Photo by Daniel Torobekov on Pexels.com

Look on sea blue skies and see
a dove that carries warmth from me.
Lie your weary soul on soft smooth sand,
close your eyes,
I’ll take your hand.
Smell the sweetness that painted flowers send,
and know the comfort to thee I do attend.
Listen, to the woosh of the waves,
hear my whispering words
that linger lightly as they say,
look at me,
across the vast expanse of time,
I am with you, in heart and in mind.

Villanelle I

Quietly by the shore at night
The seagulls swoop and sway,
Singing old tunes in the radiant moonlight.

In the shadows a fading sight,
A creepy tiny creature crawling free
Quietly by the shore at night.

The sun is down, not burning bright,
Waves speak up with gentle glee
Singing old tunes in the radiant moonlight.

Two seagulls in the distance do fight,
As I sat silently observing by a tree
Quietly by the shore at night.

I heard a man, it gave me a fright,
He wheeled around to stare at me
singing old tunes in the radiant moonlight.

I thought it just might be alright
To talk to him, not run and flee
But sing old tunes in the radiant moonlight,
Quietly by the shore at night.

Memories

God didn’t give us good memories so we could look back and regret that we can’t go back and relive them. He gave us good memories as a gift so we can look back repeatedly and smile and be glad we had them.

Soulmate

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com

By countless trees we walk,
Its limbs hold many years,
The leaves bend knowing nods,
of lifetimes we have shared.

My love for you an endless stream,
That flows within my heart,
To You I give my soul,
That we many never part.

Through time and space I’ve called to you,
The wind it carried my voice,
Upon the mountains and hilltops to shout,
An echo of love most rejoiced.

In dreams we’ve floated upon the sea,
And saw a setting sun kneel,
How awesome, complete, and whole,
For that is how you make me feel.

Come soar with me on eagle’s wings,
And dance above the clouds,
When whipping winds of life o’er take,
You catch me when I’m blown down.

At night we’ve met upon the shore<
And lain on sleepy sand,
Our spirits rose and love we’ve made,
To the music of nature’s band.

Each lifetime blooms from God above,
Like every spring His hand creates,
How golden and cherished are you,
My love, my life, my soulmate.

Love’s Breath

Photo by Jill Burrow on Pexels.com

Love is joyful,
Love is pain,
Love, a sweet smelling flower,
Pulls me to its scent,
And kills me with its breath.

Love stabs me with sharp petals,
And lashes, with fiery forest green leaves.

With every torturous gasp I take,
I whither.

Love’s entrancing, enticing entity,
Takes me in,
Holds me,
Stabs me,
Caresses me,
Cuts me.

This seesaw love,
It plagues me,
My head it whirls and twirls about,
Love stalks my smitten soul.

Jesus Is Always With Us

Matthew 28:19-20

“Therefore go and make desciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

One Starry Night

Photo by Jakub Novacek on Pexels.com

One starry night I lay beneath the sky,
the crickets strummed their violins so sweet,
dewy drops tickled,
the cool it prickled,
the moon man smiled up high.
