Morning Rituals

What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?

Normally, I start by taking my blood sugar reading. That’s a must do for diabetes as you all know. Then I fix my coffee. While I’m enjoying my coffee ☕, I like to listen/watch devotionals on YouTube. Then it’s breakfast and a shower…..

Standing and Moving

Standing in your own way can be detrimental if you don’t move.

Giving

Giving comes in all sorts of packages. It doesn’t have to necessarily be a physical thing that you give. It can be your time or a helping hand. Giving someone a smile or a kind word can make all the difference. If you aren’t particularly happy at the moment, take the time to wonder why you feel that way. Don’t, and I mean don’t, take it out on others. Problems/issues can be worked out. You might not see it at the moment, but they can be/will be. I’ve heard this phrase spoken many times throughout the last couple weeks:

You can’t move forward it you keep looking back.

Nothing will get done if you don’t relax and move forward. But helping others has its own healing effects no matter what your issue.

Nature’s Concerto by L. M. Montes

Greens of glory glistened
while floating by on turquoise,
trees with yellowed leaves waved
as nature’s orchestra played
a soothing symphony,
lapping water slurped upside
a tiny boat set adrift,
whistling concertos breezed from
holes in wooden rafts of days gone by,
nature plays for nature
when no one is around,
then night time lifts its curtain
and nothing makes a sound.

Inner Cave by L. M. Montes

Caves hide darkness
in vast shadows–

creatures from within
lurk behind the mind’s eye–

two steps forward
three steps back–

now to face it
but risk attack–

inner caves thus sit in silence
forever grieving with no healing,
stuck in mind mud–
no way out–
life’s decisions pushed you out.

The Beauty You See by L. M. Montes

Some days arrive and words don’t come,
just relaxation to enjoy in the sun,
beams of light across the grass caress,
inviting air of smoothness to the breath,
lavender floats along in gentle breezes,
creating a break in all that’s really needed,
so come along and smile with ease,
enjoy in life the beauty you see.

When I Grow Up

When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was five, I wanted to be an Olympic runner.
