A sea of indifference bobbed
upon waves of unknowing
where life would lead,
currents snatched with need
and hunger overflowing
’til life from all were robbed.
From depths goodness reaches
smoothing waves of worry
when life grows weary,
hands above guide clearly
without swells or hurry
but with love beseeches.

Love Beseeches by L. M. Montes
Quotes to Live by
Do you have a quote you live your life by or think of often?
Yes, I do, three of them. They’re reminders more than quotes. See below.
1. God is still on the throne.
2. Rely on Jesus.
3. Be strong in Jesus. Let Him be my strength.
These three keep the worry away.
Favorite Holiday
What is your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite?
I would have to say the Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite holidays. Those two are when family gathers most. I enjoy being with family.
Camping
I grew up camping. I loved camping. It all started when my grandparents bought a travel trailer and a tent. They made plans with my parents at various times during the summers to go camping together. I’m from Michigan, USA originally, and in that state there are campgrounds everywhere. The coastal line along the Great Lakes provided many many campgrounds, which we frequented, and the inland lakes provided the same.
My favorite campground was at Lake Charlevoix up near Petoskey, Michigan. That would be the northwest part of the state along the coast of Lake Michigan. The emerald green and sometimes turquoise color of the water was breathtaking. While there, we went to the beach and looked for Petoskey stones (hence the name of the city). Other activities we did were fishing, swimming, hiking, riding bikes, exploring, and other kinds of interesting activities kids love to do. Eventually, our cousins went with us, which made the experience all that more fun.
Now that I am older, I don’t want to camp. The reason for that feeling has nothing to do with anything negative from my childhood experience of it, though. I have those cherished memories tucked in my heart. I guess I outgrew it and am on to other things now.
I Shouldn’t Have Blinked by L. M. Montes
Life crept steady when I was little,
speed took a seat for just a while,
days morphed into weeks morphed
into months morphed into years,
then looking back I wondered
where childhood skipped to,
time gazed back, threw me a wink,
then I realized I shouldn’t have blinked.
Without You… by L. M. Montes
I stood barefoot with toes sinking
in poufy grass. A small lake’s lapping
waves clapped ashore with swishing
language speaking freely. Hands placed
themselves upon my shoulders, moved
down my arms to my hands. In one swift
motion his arms squeezed, pulling me
inward. I sank into your muscular chest.
His lips touched my ear, and his voice
whispered a melodic tune of love. I turned
and took his cheeks in the palms of my
hands, gazed into his eyes, then we lifted off
the grass and floated. The air around us
lighted a lavender and blue veil then circled.
“Without you, my love, there is no love. You are
the love within my heart. I pray you stay for-
ever a part of life that’s mine from God above.”
Liked Topics
It varies depending on the person I’m with. I like talking about interests I share with others, like writing and crafting. I love talking about my stories/books and bouncing ideas off of my children. They’re a big help when it comes to that. I also enjoy conversations that move along at a steady pace from one topic to the next. It doesn’t matter what the topics are during conversations like that because the thrill/enjoyment comes from the conversational experience itself.
Risk
Describe a risk you took that you do not regret.
When I was in basic training in the United States Army, we had to do what they called the confidence course. It involved climbing a ladder up to a 30 foot platform, and I do mean climb, because we quite literally had to climb to each rung. Once on the platform we had to repel down a 30 foot wall. Then we had to side step across a ladder made of rope going from a 15 foot tower to a 20 foot platform or catwalk, then lay down on a single rope and pull ourselves back down to the 15 foot platform. Then we had to turn back around and walk up a third type of rope (walk on a single rope while hanging on to two ropes) to the 20 foot catwalk. From the catwalk we had to climb back up a wooden ladder to the 30 foot platform. From there we had to climb down a 30 foot wall by way of rope webbing.
I don’t regret having done this in the least. I was terrified at the time, but I did it. And, now, each time I lack confidence, I think back to that accomplishment. Suddenly, my lack of confidence goes away.
Nervousness
What makes you nervous?
I’m also in real estate. What makes me nervous is having to make phone calls to buyers/sellers.
