Things can only give happiness temporarily. True happiness comes from Jesus. He gives me happiness everyday. Those 30 things? They are just things. When I am writing, I am happy because I enjoy creating stories, and Jesus is with me when I write them.

I had received a gift card for Subway from a a Christmas party at work one year. After using part of it, I sat down at one of the tables to eat. There was an elderly homeless man in the booth in front of me. He asked the lady behind the counter if he could have more mayonnaise. She told him no. Just flat out no. He went back to his booth and finished his sandwich, then he rose to leave. Before he walked out the door with all of his things, I gave him my gift card. There was enough remaining on it for a full foot long meal.
I don’t understand why they couldn’t have given him more mayonnaise. It costs nothing.

Other Words for ‘Walk’
There are times in our writing a story when we want to use another word for walk, especially if we want to depict a certain way the character is walking. If the character is angry, we don’t want them to walk away. Instead we might want them to walk away angry, but what words can we use to depict the action and at the same time convey the emotion the character is feeling. Simple, don’t use the word ‘walk’. Use something else. You will find a list of other words for walk along with the emotions they represent.

Mind Set
Don’t think, what can go wrong. Instead think, what can go right.
If there is something you want to accomplish, know with all your heart that you can see it through to the end. Yes, there will be hardships and road blocks along the way. But keeping a positive mind set/outlook will get you moving in the right direction and reaching your goals.
I won’t beat around the bush here. It took me 20 years to finish my first book (It doesn’t need to take you that long). I had a lot going on over those 20 years: family, military, career, writing. I lost part of what I had written due to a computer malfunction, and vowed I’d never pick my manuscript back up. Others encouraged me to continue writing. Eventually, I did continue. The point is I did finish. So can you with whatever you set out to do.
Attraction
What attracts you? There is something that pulls all of us. It can be anything. Color attracts me. More precisely, how color is used attracts me even more, so I like hot air balloons. When you have different colored ones all in one place, it pulls me. I’ve never been up in one but would love to be. Maybe one day. I also like beads, so I collect them and make jewelry out of them. Writing also pulls at me. That’s rather obvious, LOL. When I was a kid, my grandmother always bought my sisters and I a record album with a fairy tale on it. I would listen to them all the time. Because they were audio, I learned to use my imagination when I listened to them. So, stories attract me.
Now, what attracts you? Is there something you collect?

Traditions
What traditions have you not kept that your parents had?
I don’t haven’t continued many of the traditions my parents had. Not that I don’t/didn’t agree with their traditions, but it’s been fun creating new ones. I didn’t purposely set out to create new ones. It just happened.
