We All Fall

Monday, July 29th, while out for a walk, I tripped on a piece of cement sticking up from the sidewalk. This propelled me forward at a momentum I couldn’t stop, and I ended up flying over the curb, landing on the street, falling on my arms, and smacking the side of my face on the pavement. The result was two broken arms. The left arm was worse off with a broken ulna and a dislocated radius. The radius was popped back into place, but the break needed surgery. My right arm had a hairline fracture only, so my range of motion with it was hindered but not out of commission. I didn’t have a concussion from smacking side of my face on the cement. Overall, I was ok and rested as comfortably as was possible under the circumstances.

That above incident created a domino effect of sorts. The following week the daughter of my dad’s lady friend fell and broke her arms. Then a story of another was shared with me. We all fall. Whether physically or figuratively, we all fall. Some harder than others, but we do. We have two choices here. We can sit and wallow in regret, or we can get up, learn from the situation, and keep moving with our heads up.

Wasting Time

I have to honestly say that, when I waste a lot of time, it’s done with playing games on my phone. Knowing this, I combat it with time limits. I make out a to do list each morning. After I finish one activity, I play a game for a ten to fifteen minutes, close it out, then on to the next item on my list.

How do you waste the most time every day?

Favorite Historical Figure

Who is your favorite historical figure?

Jesus Christ the Son of God, because he died for the sins of the whole world. He was innocent and was still crucified. He died, was buried, and arose from the dead on the third day. He saved us all, that whosoever believes in Him shall never perish but have everlasting life with Him in heaven.

John 3:16 says…

God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whosoever believes in Him shall never perish but have everlasting life.

Yes…..He loves us all that much.

Favorite Books as a Child

Daily writing prompt
Do you remember your favorite book from childhood?

Fairy tales were always my favorite. It didn’t matter if I read them or listened to them on 33 record albums. I enjoyed the story and imagery they invoked. When you use your imagination like that enough times throughout your life, what you essentially end up doing is training your mind to be more creative and helps when dreaming up stories of your own.

The Impact of Technology on Modern Humanity: A Spiritual Reflection by L. M. Montes

Life’s hurricane blew humanity in a flurry,
rendering those who strayed from God
in such a mess our hearts became blurry.

Tech advanced beyond so far ahead,
abilities swelled away from God,
humility decreased and now is dead.

Some say we are on Dead End Street,
adrift from all that is right from God,
that’s why we repent and lay at Christ’s feet.
