O’er the Sea by L. M. Montes

Salt water air the seagulls breath,
Sand glides toward the waters sheath,
White feathered wings tickle evening skies,
With rolling waves as they sail by.

Villanelle I

Quietly by the shore at night
The seagulls swoop and sway,
Singing old tunes in the radiant moonlight.

In the shadows a fading sight,
A creepy tiny creature crawling free
Quietly by the shore at night.

The sun is down, not burning bright,
Waves speak up with gentle glee
Singing old tunes in the radiant moonlight.

Two seagulls in the distance do fight,
As I sat silently observing by a tree
Quietly by the shore at night.

I heard a man, it gave me a fright,
He wheeled around to stare at me
singing old tunes in the radiant moonlight.

I thought it just might be alright
To talk to him, not run and flee
But sing old tunes in the radiant moonlight,
Quietly by the shore at night.
