Growth

What experiences in life helped you grow the most?

I would have to say my many mistakes I’ve made in the past. They’ve opened the door for reflection, problem identification, and fixing behaviors that caused the problem that led to the mistake in the first place.

Mistaken by L. M. Montes

I strolled along in the park one day
enjoying a floral scene,
until a tap on my shoulder I felt
compelled me to turn around,
it was a man with reddened face
who hurled words with daggered grace,
I turned do leave but hit the ground
when me he tripped and there he dwelt,
“Sir, why do you have to be so mean,
I am not the person whose name you say.”

Dear Me,

If you’re reading this, it means you lived a long life due to learning from your mistakes. Way to go.

Life’s Choices by L. M. Montes

The pull of life reached out to me,
and taunted with its symmetry,
so many shapes and paths that call,
which one to do or none at all,
alas I chose and it was wrong,
so others harped with nasty song,
inside I shrank and bent to cringe,
the edges of my mind so singed,
but light it came and slayed the burn,
as from mistakes the brain it learned.
