It’s difficult to say which I put more thought into regarding the past or future, but thinking about each is equally important. Learning from one’s past allows us to grow and mature inside. Having aspirations for the future is equally important because in this way we are giving ourselves goals to work toward.
Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why?
Neither. I can’t fix the past. All I can do is learn from it. One can contemplate the future and make tentative plans for it and even dream. But, since events can and do happen outside of our control, all we can do is hope and pray about it. Thus, we can’t control the future either. We can control our present, so that’s where my mind is mostly. That and Jesus.
